Friends, you are now reading the third issue of Socialist Viewpoint. We hope you think that our magazine is as valuable as we do.

This is a great time to be publishing a SOCIALIST magazine. The capitalist class is having a rough time rubbing two good stocks together. The environment is in worse shape than we thought—and there is no hope it will get better without a socialist revolution.

All over this country there are people who have worked to better the world. Anti-war activists, health care activists, anti-monopoly activists, workers who work too long for too little money, women who work towards equality and for the right to choose, students who fight for affirmative action and for the rights of workers on their campuses to receive decent wages and living standards. This is a nation of working people who stand up for their rights. It’s part of our history.

Those are the people who need a magazine such as Socialist Viewpoint.

Socialist Viewpoint reports on all the battles taking place as well as the important historical battles that have already taken place. If we do not learn from history—we just might have to repeat it.
